In Tibetan mythology, dragon is believed to be a mighty creature, It said to have a body of a snake, head of the lion, it flies like an eagle and is agile like a monkey. Blessed with unbound creative powers dragon represents the Yang side of the world, energy, wealth and ingenuity.
Dragon is a guardian of hidden treasures. It controls the water element, and is often associated with weather. It is also a symbol of enlightenment, and a defender of Dharma – i.e. Buddha’s teachings.
People put a statue or a painting of a dragon to protect their homes from negative energies. It is also believed to bring wealth and prosperity to the householders.
